Meet the woman behind the beautiful and vivacious American Muslim vlogger, Yaz the Spaz (Yasemin Kanar). This is Cuban-born and American-raised Rori Kanar a.k.a. Yaz the Spaz's mum. In this video she shares her journey to Islam with us.

I love listening to stories like this. As Muslims we often get caught up in the do's and don'ts until we forget the purpose of Islam in the first place, which is to bring peace into the hearts and minds of people. Every now and then we need to be reminded that Islam is for everyone and we need to help others find their way towards God instead of condemning them for their shortcomings or struggles.
